Sound Meditation
Sunday March 26
75 Minutes of Deep Relaxation, Rest and Regeneration
Sound meditations (or sound baths) are immersive, musical, deep listening experiences that can provide a ritualized resting ground for deep relaxation, nourished imagination, and regeneration. In this 75 minute offering we come together to be supported by guided meditation, gentle movement to create space, and cocooned by the sounds of singing bowls, chimes, voice, and more. Please wear comfy clothing and any props you'd like to snuggle up with (pillows, blankets, eye pillow, etc).
Charlie Gates (they/them) is a queer sound maker, movement guide, poet and fledgling storyteller residing on the unceded lands of the Lkwungen speaking peoples, today known as Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations. Charlie has been a student of sound, music, and movement since an early age, and has been offering sound experiences since 2015.
Their work in the world is weaving together the threads of sound, somatics, poetry and myth to create regenerative resting grounds to nourish the imagination and cultivate a sense of enchantment through deep listening. They are a devoted student of classical Tantra, folklore, mythopoetics, frequency, and somatic movement.
